Why do People Want to Quit Cannabis if it is so Harmless?

The lines are heavily divided between the legalize marijuana and the ban marijuana camps. The feelings between these two are full of hate and they are both zealous and militant in their views. So since people who smoke weed are usually in the pro-pot camp what is it that drives them to find out how to quit smoking marijuana?

While obviously not all pot smokers are so hardcore in support of the drug, the culture that it breeds is always saying how weed is harmless and should be available just like alcohol as that is actually more dangerous. So a reasonable answer to this is that these people who want to quit want to do so because they feel that it is bad for them and need to know how to quit smoking pot even if they do not believe the drug is a terrible thing.

Even though they perhaps do not realize it yet and may have some blame toward marijuana itself, the realization that the habit of smoking weed has created a negative thing in their lives is indicative of a psychological addiction. Just like any other behavioral addiction like gambling for instance this is an addiction of habit, and addiction of a high, and addiction of something that makes them feel good even if it causes harm in many other ways.

So lay down your arms on the legalization issue of pot, those that want to know how to quit smoking weed have a genuine problem that they need help with that is only partly to do with the actual drug. In fact if people were more understanding about psychological addictions then maybe more people addicted to marijuana would feel better about coming forward and trying to quit if they know it is hurting thier lives.

How To Break A Porn Addiction

Breaking any addiction is a complex process that involves understanding and action and how to break a porn addiction is just the same!

While this may seem simplistic lets look and see how important each one is and how they fail without each other.

Action

Action is important; if you procrastinate over doing something then you will never get it done. Most people suffering from addictive behavior lack the drive to take action. A smoker says he will quit on his birthday or new year, a gambler will quit after their next big win and so one but usually they continue to delay. Having the willpower to take action is something that no one can really help you with it has to come from a determination within yourself fueled by a vision of how much better your life will be when you cure yourself.

Following this you must delve deeper into your psychological problems and investigate and understand the root causes of your addiction be it low self esteem, a warped view of women and sex or problems within your marriage perhaps? There are so many reasons and everyone is different so it must be you who comes to the final realization.

Armed with this knowledge you can take on these causes and find ways to come to terms with them and eliminate them from your life making you a stronger person and killing the weed at its base.

However, some people have an uncanny ability to over think things and investigate and understand but never get around to actually taking action! Nothing amount of soul searching will actually help you quit unless you have the will to take positive actions not only against the top down aspects mentioned but against the root problems which are a lot harder.

The motivation to do all this can be hard to come by but the sheer fact of the matter is that your future is in your hands and this is a battle that can be won if you apply yourself men tally and physically to the task. There are reams and reams of books written about motivation so I will not go into that here but provided you can keep the motivation and use these two tools you can be porn free before you know it!

There is no easy answer to how to stop an addiction to porn as the real causes behind such a damaging habit are as varied as the bizarre sex acts you find in the adult entertainment industry! The less temptations there are the more chance you have to find the real reasons behind your problem. It also gives a much needed motivational boost taking affirmative action directly against what plagues them but beware this can be a short term cure if the underlying problems are not addressed!

To really counter an addiction you need to understand the root cause of the addiction and take action against that or any other short term measure will eventually be overcome in a moment of weakness. Methods of How to Quit Smoking for Better Health

“Have you got a plan to quit smoking?” I asked.
“Plan? I am just going to stop and that is that!” my friend replied.
“Like the last two times then huh?” perhaps I should not be so sarcastic but she does this every time!

To be honest that is just the way my friend Sally is, she makes decisions on the spur of the moment which makes her a fun and lively girl but when she said he was going to quit for the 3rd time I had to ask if she had methods of how to quit smoking cigarettes before she went on her merry way, doomed to another failure and increasingly worse smokers cough.

Her answer of course was “no”, she had no methods and no plan because she blamed the last two attempts that failed on the stresses she was under or the environment she was in without taking any responsibility for herself. This time though she agreed to sit down and come up with a plan with some methods and rules for herself to overcome this unhealthy addiction for good.

Methods of how to quit smoking cigarettes do not need to be long winded just some basic things written down to help you along. I tend to divide them into three sections.

  • Goals - Write down realistic goals with dates on them to keep. It could be the exact date you will go cold turkey or it might be how many you will reduce smoking every day. As long as it is written down and carried with you as a reminder
  • How to deal with Cravings - Some people suffer badly from the cravings caused by the nicotine addiction you have built up over your time smoking. IT is important to have a plan on what to do when they hit, typically you need to distract yourself. Go clean up your office or home might be one or think of people playing tennis (bizarre but true it helps! Must be the repetitive back and forth is soothing) or anything lese that has nothing to do with smoking.
  • Reasons - One of the most important things you need to do is to change your mindset from that of a smoker to that of a non-smoker. To do this you need good solid reasons for why quitting will be good … write down all the benefits you will see, extra money, health, family; whatever is MOTIVATING to you!

This really helped Sally in her attempt but it did not make it a breeze for her. One thing that did help her was her decision to use a self hypnosis course that really worked as she had been hypnotized before and knew its power.

1. Write a list of reason you LIKE smoking

Also if your list of things to do to overcome cravings do not have an answer to all your reasons why quitting might be hard then you may need to revisit the former list and add to it. 6. Set a quit date

Quitting Pot - The Nasty 4 Letter Word That Is Stopping You

There are many things that seem keep you from quitting pot: Social reasons, stress, lack of a plan and so forth but hiding behind these excuses hides a nasty little devil that we either do not recognize or we do but try to hide him all the same; it is a dirty 4 letter word starting with ‘F’

We all like to think we can do what we want but there are obstacles in our way that stop us when the reality is that fear plays a much larger part in it that we will care to admit and if you have a been a long time smoker of marijuana it only intensifies because the alternative seems to much further away.

Some claim that meditation is just a replacement addiction or action and does not solve the root cause of why someone became addicted to marijuana in the first place. Many take up such an addiction to get away from some pain in their lives and feel pot gives them an escape. I also believe this is true but you cannot solve these problems while you have an addiction but having the will to look at your life and find what it is that has driven you to such measures is very important and using meditation can be much easier. From a lack of direction in ones life to physical assault at home to high stress jobs psychological drug addition has many causes that need to be addressed.

So it is my firm belief that using meditation to quit marijuana does work and can only be a good thing for those that try and may lead you to a better state of being in a spiritual sense and a more stable life in a very realistic sense.

Marijuana while only a “soft drug” compared to the likes of cocaine, heroin and others can still be a very addictive and destructive drug. Many people who long to quit smoking pot find their lives revolve around marijuana and it becomes a habit that fills any gap in their lives. It can become such an integral part of their lives that they feel like they are living in a haze most of the time and are missing out on some very important parts of life. While this may sound easy it can of course be a lot harder in practice as the habit can run very deep especially for those who have smoked for years. Quitting can be accompanied by anxiety and depression as you learn to live life without the constant smoking which can seem soothing and comforting but only because it was a part of your routine. The trick for some people is to find something to replace this addiction, obviously not another addiction but something creative and fulfilling. Something that makes you happy without an extreme high you may try to latch onto as an alternative.

So how to quit smoking weed in a nutshell? You must realize you do not crave weed but just want it! Once you learn to adapt to a life without marijuana you will find you can quit smoking pot forever!

The benefits of giving up pot can be listed point form from a huge variety of perks that can help you in your daily life and long term but one question people who are looking for benefits of quitting marijuana need to also ask is what benefits do I really want?

We can list a string of good reasons to quit but none of them really mean anything to an addict if they do not close to home and have real and personal meaning to their own situation. Without this personalized benefit all other good points may not stick in their mind when the temptation of smoking weed comes up and all of these vaguely good sounding things just become… well too vague, distant and out of context sometimes.
